The Glass House Mountains, a group of 11 hills, with elevations up to 555 metres above sea level (Mount Beerwah), are an impressive natural feature of the area. The Glass House Mountains are volcanic in nature and were formed as molten lava cooled and solidified around 26 million years ago.
