County of Cumberland Planning Scheme – Infrastructure and Zoning Map (1951)
The 1951 County of Cumberland Planning Scheme was an ambitious plan by the then NSW Government to plan for Sydney’s land use and transportation future. The 29 maps above show the plan’s proposals in high-resolution detail.
There are many interesting infrastructure proposals shown on the map, such as the large number of railway routes through the Eastern Suburbs. Look through the map yourself and see what interesting proposals you can find.
